Vernell Yates

Mrs. Vernell Bennett Yates of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifton Bennett and Nora Bragg Bennett, was born on August 30, 1942 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 73 years, two months, and one day of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also Manager for the Bella's Smoke Shop.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew "Andy" Yates of Greensburg, having united in marriage in April of 1998.

Other survivors include a son: Shannon Tedrow of Greensburg; two grandsons: Josh Tedrow and Jordan Tedrow both of Greensburg; a brother: Loren V. Bennett of Metcalfe County; three sisters: Bernice Wisdom, Virginia "Genie" Coomer both of Metcalfe County, and Delcie Gibson of Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Yates was also preceded in death by a grandson: Justin Hardin.

The funeral services for Mrs. Vernell Bennett Yates will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, Kentucky. Bro. Joseph Wilcoxson will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 12 Noon until 8:00 P.M., Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Monday until time of the funeral service.
