Ruth Chaney

Ruth Pepper Chaney was born May 14, 1924 in Green County, KY to the late F.T. and Betty Berry Pepper. She departed this life Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital, in Greensburg, having attained the age of ninety years, eleven months and eight days.

Mrs. Chaney had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Sand Lick Separate Baptist Church. She was very active in her church. She worked at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital as a Nurse's Aide for many years. She was a caretaker and loved to farm. She was united in marriage August 31, 1940 to Dennis Chaney, who preceded her in death March, 1988. She was also united in marriage January 7, 2006 to Ruhel Judd, who preceded her in death September, 2009. Besides her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Billy Wheeler, one great granddaughter Landon Ruth Meece, six brothers: Crawford, Shreve, Morgan, Henry, Ralph and Paul Pepper, three sisters: Oris Nunn, Evelyn Davis and Rosa Unger.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Betty and David Gaines of Frankfort, KY and one son: W.D. Chaney of Greensburg, two brothers and one sister-in-law: Glenn Pepper of Campbellsville and Eugene and Shirley Pepper of Greensburg, one sister: Joann Ramsey of Glasgow, three grandchildren: Karen and Ed Meece of Livingston, Montana, Amy and Daniel Thompson of Frankfort and Josh Chaney of Greensburg and three great grandchildren: Edison Meece, Abbey Thompson and Grace Thompson.

Place and Time of Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home
Visitation: 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 and after 7 a.m. Saturday, April 25 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home
Ministers: Rev. Meryl Young, Rev. Roger Pepper, Rev. Jerry Scott
Interment In: Green County Memory Garden, Summersville, KY
Pallbearers: Garnett Beams, John Frank, Phillip Nunn, Tommy Pepper, Tom Davis, Dewey Pepper

The family has requested that donations be made to the Sand Lick Separate Baptist Church or to Gideons International. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
