Delbert Underwood

Delbert Gene Underwood of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Edwin Marrs Underwood and Lillie Rose Martin Underwood, was born on Wednesday, May 4, 1949 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center. He was 71 years, 3 months, and 22 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, attended the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He had accepted the call into the ministry, and was a farmer.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Marsha Renea Elmore Underwood of Greensburg, having united in marriage on August 27, 1976.
Other survivors include a brother: Shelby Underwood of Greensburg; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Gary Elmore of Summersville, and Boneva and Kim Johnson of Lexington; nieces and nephews: Martha Price, Leeann Johnson, Bryce Cook all of Campbellsville, Rashonda Mitchell, Kaylie Mitchell, Shyann Mitchell, Lilly Mitchell all of Greensburg, Chase Johnson, and Morgan Johnson both of Lexington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Underwood was also preceded in death by three sisters: Emma Price, Delores Underwood, and Mary Underwood.

There will be a joint funeral service for Delbert Underwood held at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Friday, August 28, 2020 along side with his sister, Mary Underwood at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Robert Knight officiating.
There will joint (walk through) visitation held after 9:00 A.M., Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.
