Arthur Creason

April 9, 1925 — December 20, 2017

Mr. Arthur Creason of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Jake Creason and Flora Ellen McCubbin Creason, was born on Thursday, April 9, 1925 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home. He was 92 years, 8 months, and 11 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was saved in 1960, was a member and Elder of 51 years of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Creason was a retired Police Officer for the City of Greensburg, and was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was also a member of the James L. Pruitt V.F.W. Post #5813, and the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124.
Survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Jean Marr Creason of Summersville, having united in marriage on June 21, 1947.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Larry Dean and Rita Creason of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Michelle Lynette and Fabian Bennett of Elizabethtown, Jennifer Danelle and David Collie of California, and Trent Elliott and Sarah Creason of Campbellsville; eight great-grandchildren: Samuel Robert, Isaiah Nyel, Noah Xavier, and Josiah Luke Bennett, Silas David and Myah Catherine Collie, Nehemiah Arthur and Evelynn Mae Creason; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Curtis Gene and Peggy Atwell, Louise Bagby, Howard and Elsie Moran, Haywood Marr, and Nettie Arnett Creason all of Green County; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Creason was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters: Rollin Creason, Carl Creason, Alton Creason, Nellie Creason Marr, Lottie Creason Marr, Dorsey Creason Russell, and Clovis Ann Creason.

The funeral services for Mr. Arthur Creason will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Glasgow D.A.V. Honor Guard. Bro. Trent Creason and Bro. Robert Knight officiating.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Cst., Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Saturday.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the U.B. Slinker and Jake Creason Scholarship Fund at Campbellsville University, which can be made at the funeral home.
