Mrs. Ada Thompson Lewis of Summersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Herbert Thompson and Clora Warren Thompson, was born on October 5, 1921 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. She was 94 years, three months, and five days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, babysitter, and had been employed with American Tobacco Company and The Noodle Factory both located in Louisville, Kentucky.
She united in marriage to Leonard Lewis on July 4, 1941 who preceded her in death on October 19, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Rita and Roger Skaggs of Summersville; a granddaughter and her husband: Brittany and Trent Judd of Summersville; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ray Thompson, Walter John and Allene Thompson all of Hodgenville, and Jean Thompson of Buffalo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lewis was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Melvin Russell Thompson, Homer Thompson, Irene Metcalfe, and Darlene Davis.
The funeral for Mrs. Ada Thompson Lewis will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. J.W. Bennett, Jerry Lane Judd, and Bro. Al Hardy will be officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
